Sesame is one of the oldest oilseed crops in the world and among the highest in oil content of any seed. Sudanese sesame, grown in Gedaref and the Blue Nile, is renowned for its rich, nutty flavour, clean appearance, and high oil yield.
We grade by colour: white (white to yellowish-white, colored seeds no more than 5%), mixed (whitish, up to 25% colored seeds), and brown or red (golden to brownish, 26% colored seeds and above). Each is available natural or hulled, machine-cleaned for oil extraction, tahini and halva, bakery topping, and confectionery. Rich in B vitamins and minerals such as iron, magnesium, and calcium.
